Boston Universal Pre-K
The goal of Boston Universal Pre-K is to ensure every three- and four-year-old in Boston has access to publicly-funded, high-quality early education experiences that lays the foundation for their future learning and educational success. The Mayor’s Office of Early Childhood (OEC) and Boston Public Schools (BPS) strive to serve eligible three and four-year-old children across Boston through a mixed delivery system made up of four Pre-K settings: Boston Public Schools, Community-Based Organizations, Independent Schools, and Family Child Care providers. In the 23-24 school year, Boston UPK had 4,600 total publicly-funded seats (3- and 4-year-old) across all settings city-wide.
